SYLACAUGA, Ala. – For the 2017-2018 season, the broadcast streaming and on-demand playback technologies for Sylacauga High School’s football, basketball, baseball, and special events will be provided by RadioAlabama‘s Yea!106.5. The radio station’s audio will be simulcast with the video of live games.

Jeremy Law will handle play-by-play duties alongside color commentator Brent Atchley, and Sylacauga High School’s Max Jackson will serve as the sideline reporter. SHS journalism students will control cameras and video operations.

Live SHS audio broadcasts will air on Yea!106.5, WYEA!1290, WYEA.net, and the Yea!106.5 mobile apps. Live video and recorded games will be available online at AggiePride.tv.

“Sylacauga City Schools is excited about this partnership with Yea!106.5,” said Superintendent Dr. Todd Freeman. “Our students and community benefit from the positive and high quality exposure that these live events bring. We believe our work together will continue to enhance our mission to prepare our students for college, career, and community success.”

“I’m honored to be the voice of SHS football as we partner with the school through our network of media platforms,” said Jeremy Law, SylacaugaNews.com Multimedia Reporter and host of college football’s The Breakdown on 105.1 WRFS. “Football is a passion of so many people in this city, as well as mine, and I am excited to share what is going to be a great season for Sylacauga.”

Law anchored RadioAlabama’s inaugural coverage of SEC Media Days in Hoover in July.

“We are excited to be able to work with SHS and its students on fully coordinated and professional multimedia broadcasts through a unique combination of on-air and online sports coverage,” said Michael Brannon, RadioAlabama’s Executive VP, Managing Editor, and Director of Business & Digital Strategy. “This venture with the school system is a significant investment for us and will create lift for all involved.”

“This relationship with Sylacauga High School is an important part of our effort to expand coverage of area high school sports, adding a video dimension and also engaging students in production,” added Lee Perryman, President of RadioAlabama.

In addition to exclusively covering SHS football in the Fall on Yea!1065 & WYEA!1290, RadioAlabama will broadcast a new East Central Alabama High School Football Coaches Show on Thursday nights on Yea!106.5 & WYEA!1290 and an additional East Central Alabama High School Football Game of the Week on sister station 98.3 Fox FM with David McCurley and Robert Sprayberry.

RadioAlabama owns and operates four FMs and two AMs across East Central Alabama along with SylacaugaNews.com.

Sylacauga High School is a 5A school with more than 700 students. Some 2,300 students are enrolled in Sylacauga’s city school system.

Sylacauga’s complete schedule and scores will be available on SylacaugaNews.com.
