CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by multiple vehicles on Hwy 280 near Coosa Pines Dr. late Friday night, June 21.
Officers with the Childersburg Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 11:04 p.m. and found a man in the roadway.
All involved vehicles remained on scene and cooperated with authorities while Childersburg Fire and Rescue provided medical care before the man was transported by ambulance to Coosa Valley Medical Center.
The victim, identified as 30-year-old Terrence Collins of Childersburg, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Collins family during this difficult time,” the police department said in an official statement.
