ASHLAND, Ala. -Two men from Clay County were pronounced dead in a car accident over the weekend.
In a statement from the the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the agency announced a single-vehicle crash at 11:03 p.m. Sunday, May 27, claimed the life of two men from Ashland.
James Thomas Clark, 52, was killed when the 1997 Nissan Maxima he was driving left the roadway on Hwy. 9, struck a tree, and caught fire. Clark was not wearing a seat belt, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jeffery Clark, the 50 year old passenger, also was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred inside the city limits of Ashland at the 181.6 mile marker. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
