Tickets for Auburn’s appearance in Charleston Classic on sale

AUBURN, Ala. – Tickets to watch Auburn men’s basketball in the 2017 Gildan Charleston Classic Nov. 16, 17 and 19 at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C., are currently on sale and can be purchased through the College of Charleston ticket office.

Joining the Tigers in the tournament are Clemson, Dayton, Temple, Ohio, Hofstra, Indiana State and Old Dominion. Both Dayton has made four-straight NCAA Tournament appearances while Clemson played in the NIT. It will be televised by the ESPN networks.

Fans can purchase an early bird all-session baseline or upper level ticket for $90, $10 off the regular price, or premium sideline general admission for $100, $15 off the regular price, until August 11. College of Charleston season ticket holders can purchase baseline or upper general admission all-session tickets for $80 or premium sideline general admission tickets for $90.

The 2017 Gildan Charleston Classic will feature a bracket format with 12 games over three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through the bracket. The bracket and full tournament schedule will be announced later this month.

This will mark Auburn’s second time to play in the Charleston Classic, going 1-3 in 2012 by defeating the College of Charleston while losing to Murray State and Dayton. The Tigers lost at Boston College as part of the four-game tournament.

Auburn is 15-12 all-time vs. Clemson, 1-0 vs. Ohio, 2-1 vs. Old Dominion, 2-2 vs. Temple, 0-4 vs. Dayton and have never faced Hofstra nor Indiana State.

The Tigers are 4-2 all-time in the historic city of Charleston, going 3-0 at the College of Charleston, 1-0 at The Citadel and 0-1 vs. both Dayton and Murray State.

This will be the 10th year that Charleston has hosted the tournament. Charleston has been named the “Top U.S. City” and “Second Best  City in the World” by Condé Nast Traveler 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards. In 2015, Charleston was also voted the “Top City in the U.S. and Canada” in the Travel + Leisure for the fourth consecutive year.

It was announced last October that Auburn will play in the 2018 Maui Invitational for the first time in school history against a field of Arizona, Duke, Xavier, Gonzaga, Illinois, Iowa State and San Diego.
