SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga 4-H Shooting Team established the mark of excellence at the 4-H State Shoot tournament held April 13- 14.

Sylacauga finished in second place thanks to team members Jared Adams, Elisabeth McGrady, Thomas Roberts, and Trae Wright. This same group placed first in the senior skeet team competition. Adams, McGrady, Roberts, and Taylor Thomas brought home a third place finish for the sporting clays senior team.

Trae Wright placed first in the senior individual skeet event, and Caymen Barron placed second in junior individual skeet.

The 4H Shooting Team club sponsors are Lisa McGrady and Justin Browning.

Sylacauga City Schools celebrates with the SHS 4-H Shooting Team on their outstanding success in this year’s 4-H State Shoot.

The highest priority is placed on safety, and the students are trained from the beginning on the proper handling of firearms.
