ANDALUSIA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Babe Ruth all-stars came up short in the state championship after falling to Tallassee, but were still invited to regional play in Andalusia. ‘

The double-elimination Southwest tournament began on Friday. Sylacauga’s boys dropped their first game 6-0, but have since put two wins together in the losers’ bracket. On Saturday, Sylacauga knocked off Crossett, Arkansas 3-0 and on Sunday Sylacauga dominated Ft. Smith, Arkansas 13-1.

Today at 4:00, Sylacauga will face off against Denver City, Texas. If Sylacauga wins the team will turn around to play at 7:00.

The Southwest championship will be played on Tuesday.
