SPD: Shots fired into 91-year-old woman’s home; seeks help in identifying suspect

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Police Department is asking for help in identifying a suspect responsible for shooting into an occupied residence.

According to SPD, the crime took place Aug. 2 on S. Davis Ave. at 9:00 p.m. at a 91-year-old woman’s home.

SPD Chief Kelley Johnson said in a press release his officers responded to a call in the area of S. Davis Ave. of shots being fired with no other information.  Officers scoured the area and were unable to locate anyone in the area. 45 minutes later officers were called back to the 200 block of S. Davis Ave. to the victim’s residence where gunshot damage was found.

SPD Investigation Division is investigating the incident and interviewing possible witnesses and neighbors of the victim to try and generate a suspect in the case.
