Second Annual Stuff the Bus Food & Toy Drive kicks of Monday benefitting Alabama Childhood Food Solutions & SAFE

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – SylacaugaNews.com, 98.3 Fox FM, Yea!106.5 present the Second Annual Stuff the Bus Food and Toy drive benefitting Alabama Childhood Food Solutions (AFCS) and the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement (SAFE).

Last year, Stuff the Bus efforts helped feed more than 4,200 just in the month of December alone and make more than 140 families happy with toys on Christmas. The charity event was recognized for its community service and was recognized with a state award from the Alabama Broadcasters Association. Read more about the event from ALCFS and the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce.

Starting Monday, Dec. 4 through Friday, Dec. 8, you can donate non-perishable food items and toys to those in need this holiday season. Look for the big yellow school bus in the parking lot between MainStreet Family Urgent Care and Huddle House on Hwy. 280. Participants can drop of non-perishable food items and toys at two locations: MainStreet Family Urgent Care (during regular business hours) or Huddle House (after hours). Donated toys will be accepted by SAFE while all food items will be accepted by ACFS.

“We were absolutely thrilled with the outcome last year and are excited to do it all over again this year,” said Michael Brannon. Brannon is the Executive VP, Managing Editor and Director of Business & Digital Strategy for RadioAlabama. “This drive, as it did last year, will benefit so many local children in the Sylacauga area. What’s great about this event is the donated items stay in the area directly benefitting those in need close to home.”

“It’s not about winning an award,” said Jeremy Law, Multimedia Reporter, Business Executive, and Shop-N-FiLL Sylacauga High School athletics play-by-play announcer for RadioAlabama. “It’s about giving back to the community. It’s the time of year where our hearts should be open to give to those that need. Whether it’s a new toy or a can of soup, we can all do our part by pitching in and donating to this great effort this holiday season.”

“The event is sponsored by RadioAlabama, Huddle House, MainStreet Family Urgent Care, Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, and Farmlinks at Pursell Farms. We could not pull this off without their support and generous hearts,” said Brannon.
