SYLACAUGA, Ala. -The Sylacauga Board of Education hired many new employees during the summer. These new employees were introduced to the assembly of teachers and staff members at the SCS Institute held on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at the recently renovated Sylacauga High School Performing Arts Center.
Here is a breakdown of new hires by school:
Indian Valley Elementary school
- Isabel Cooley, kindergarten
- Bria Jackson, first grade
- Dominique Spencer, preschool instructional assistant
- Keith Honeycutt, custodian
- Angela Formby, media specialist
Pinecrest Elementary School
- Stacey Fleaman, third grade
- Ashlyn Lane, fourth grade
Nichols-Lawson Middle School
- Ashley Blocker, math
- Sally Fowler, science
- Erick Blackberry, history
- Shekneko Cornelius, sixth grade
- Taylor Mullis, band and music
- Brooke Clary, child nutrition
- Anita Kelley, child nutrition
- Samantha Nichols, bookkeeper
- Jamie Sanders, secretary
- DeAsia McNeal, guidance counselors
- Abigail Whitfield, guidance counselors
Sylacauga High School
- Kaitlyn Holloway, math
- Mike Harris, science
- Cecil Hollinquest, english
- Jacob Eliff, business education
- Chris Smith, physical education
- Jeff Bell, health and baseball
- Jessica Simmons, child nutrition
- Bennie Lewis, assistant principal
Jessica Rosato, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, commented, “We are excited about the experience and enthusiasm our new employees bring. These highly-qualified individuals will join our current staff to have a positive impact on our students.”
