What you need to know about Flu season

SHARE NOW

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Have you had your flu shot?  The season is almost here, with a few cases already diagnosed in our area. Should you get the flu vaccine every year? Doctors highly recommend for you to get an annual flu shot, because the flu virus is constantly changing and is highly contagious.

The flu is easily spread by coughing, sneezing, or nasal secretions. Patients can be contagious a day before showing symptoms and up to five days after showing symptoms.  For some people with breathing issues or weak immune systems, the flu is a potential serious illness that could lead to time in the hospital or death. People at high risk of flu complications include young children, adults 65 years of age and older, pregnant women, and people with certain medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease.  According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the flu ranges in severity and causes an average of 36,000 deaths each year.   Flu vaccinations help offer protection, and reduce your chances of getting the flu and spreading it to others.

10 Natural Tips for Flu prevention:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Clean and disinfect shared surfaces frequently, especially if someone has been sick.
  • Avoid close contact with sick people.
  • Stay home if you are sick  – for at least 24 hours after a fever.
  • Heal your gut – reduce alcohol and sugar consumption.
  • Exercise daily to boost your immune system and reduce stress.
  • Take a good multi-vitamin.
  • Get 7-9 hours of sleep.

There are negative opinions about flu vaccines:

According to an article by Johns Hopkins Researcher, Peter Doshi, Ph.D., we really need to look at what is included in flu vaccines. Could vaccines really be causing more long-term damage? “The vaccine may be less beneficial and less safe than has been claimed, and the threat of influenza seems to be overstated,” Dashi commented.

Are immunizations safe? There are conflicting reports depending on what you read or who you listen to.

The ingredient that is getting the most flack is an adjuvant called Squalene. Squalene has been linked to auto-immune disease side effects. Some researchers even think it has been used in past chemical attacks over seas. Symptoms include chronic fatigue, muscle aches, and neurologic damage.

Another harmful ingredient is mercury. Mercury overstimulates the brain for several years, says Dr. Russell Blaylock, retired neurosurgeon and author of “The Blaylock Wellness Report,” and that activation is the cause of Alzheimer’s and other degenerative diseases. One study reported that those who get the vaccine for three to five years increase their risk of Alzheimer’s disease 10-fold.

Dr. Russell Blaylock has been very vocal against the case for flu shots.  He says that no child should be vaccinated during the first three years after his or her birth. Delaying for the first six years is even better. That’s because this is the time when the brain is undergoing its most active development. Numerous studies have shown that stimulating the immune system, as occurs with vaccines, can significantly and in some cases severely disrupt brain development.

Blaylock points out that the incidence of autoimmune diseases among our young people has exploded since the number of flu vaccines has increased. In addition, the vast majority of reliable studies show that most vaccines are not effective and lose what effectiveness they have quite rapidly. The flu vaccine has been shown to be no better than a placebo.

Dr. Blaylock also says that “flu vaccinations are a pharmaceutical company’s dream since the government and media will help sell them. Since vaccinations are protected, they can’t be sued if anyone has a complication. The vast number of people who get the flu vaccine aren’t going to get any benefit, but they will get all of the risks and complications. A person can better build immune protection through good nutrition – but that doesn’t make vaccine makers billions.”

According to Doshi and Blaylock, “most of the scientific evidence (not the phony research paid for by the vaccine industry and the CDC) indicates that NO vaccine is safe. The government policy of shielding these companies from liability has made things much worse, because now the vaccines are more contaminated than ever.”

So, what do you do? It’s up to you. Now is the time.  Do you get the flu shot or not?   It’s your health, your body and your choice. What will you do this year?
