TALLAPOOSA, Ala. – A new name has been thrown in the hat for the Tallapoosa County Probate Judge seat.

On Monday, Lee Hamilton announced his candidacy for the position. Hamilton has practiced law for 20 years and served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard as a military policeman. He is running as Republican in the June 5, 2018 Primary.

“I am running for Probate Judge of Tallapoosa County because I believe it’s time we had a leader in the Probate Judge’s office that has legal experience,” said Hamilton.  I have practiced law for 20 years and I now want to bring my first-hand knowledge of legal matters to this office.  As your Probate Judge I will make sure your tax payer dollars are used wisely and you receive the best services possible in a more efficient, convenient and time effective manner.  I will work with our county commission to cut the red tape and open communications between our departments.  I will also implement 21st century technology and solutions in all areas of the office to increase public access and efficiency.   I also want to hold regular business hours in the satellite office which will serve the public better.  Serving you and providing the public and legal community with the best customer service is my top priority.  I am also proud to have served my country in the U.S. Army National Guard and now I want to serve the people of Tallapoosa County.  It’s time for accountability, integrity and conservative leadership that you can trust,” concluded Hamilton.

Hamilton received his J.D. at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama and earned a B.A. at the University of Kentucky. He also holds a M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee and a M.A. in Behavioral Sciences from Morehead State University.   He is a member of the Mental Health Association Board, a lifetime member of the NRA and served on the Board of Cystic Fibrosis.  He also served on the Boys and Girls Club of Montgomery.

Hamilton has one son, Houston, and lives in the Still Water’s community.
