MONTGOMERY, Ala.- At the request of President Donald J. Trump, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has directed all flags to be flown at half-mast following the horrific shooting at a Las Vegas concert Sunday night.

At least 50 people were killed in the shooting and over 500 were injured when a gunman opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest country music concert from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino. Over 22,000 people were attending the concert.

Country music stars such as Jake Owen, Big and Rich, Luke Combs were performing at the festival. One of the industry’s biggest attractions, Jason Aldean, was the headliner and on stage when the shooter opened fire.

Las Vegas Police said the shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, had multiple firearms in the hotel room on the 32nd floor. As police breached his room, Paddock was found dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

President Trump gave a speech Monday morning calling the shooting an act of pure evil, and released this tweet expressing his condolences to all involved.
