SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. – On Tuesday, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office arrested one Birmingham resident and three McCalla residents on burglary charges.

On April 10 at approximately 2:30pm, deputies responded to a “Burglary in Progress” call in the 7000 Block of County Road 22, near Montevallo. The homeowner was able to give a description of the suspect vehicle, and as deputies were approaching the scene, they observed a vehicle matching the description leaving the area. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and a traffic pursuit ensued. The vehicle made its way to Interstate 65 southbound with Sheriff’s Office deputies and Calera police in pursuit. As the pursuit neared the Chilton County line, the suspect vehicle intentionally struck a Calera patrol car which caused the suspect vehicle to lose control and wreck.

James Damian Clark, a 42-year-old from Birmingham, 32-year-old Holly Marie McGee, 37-year-old Christopher Scott McGee, and 40-year-old Jamie Duane McGee from McCalla were arrested and charged with Burglary 2nd degree. Christopher McGee was also charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officer, and Calera Police Department will obtain additional warrants on him, as well. Each Burglary charge has a $30,000 bond, and the Fleeing charge has a $500 bond. There were no injuries to the public, officers, or suspects as a result of the pursuit and motor vehicle crash.

Sheriff Samaniego said he thanks the Calera Police Department and their officers for the assistance they provided to help apprehend these burglary suspects.
