SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Comer Museum and Arts Center hosted the Third Annual Fine Arts and Craft Fair Saturday.

The event took place from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and included a variety of fun activities like face painting and crafts for every member of the family. The Home Depot provided craft kits, books were read by local authors, and there was live entertainment by local bands. Throughout the day, a blood drive took place in the parking lot.

“There were gospel singers, country singers, and [Bobby G. from Yea!106.5] played the oldies. It’s a great variety of music,” said Linda Pearson, assistant director of the Comer Museum.

Attendees observed plein air artists and viewed the fine art features throughout the rooms and halls of the museum. A variety of vendors sold everything from baked goods to jewelry. There was also a raffle for an Auburn queen-sized quilt along with a 50/50 Split the Pot.

“The museum is not normally open on Saturday’s. This was a great opportunity for families to come out and learn more about our city’s history,” said Pearson.

The event was a success and brought more attention to one of Sylacauga’s treasures, the Comer Museum.
