Auburn’s Sean White dismissed from team after Sunday arrest

AUBURN, Ala. – After a weekend arrest, Auburn backup quarterback Sean White has been dismissed from the Auburn football team.

Early Sunday morning, White was arrested for appearing to be under the influence in public after Auburn’s 24-10 win over Mercer on Saturday.

On Monday morning, Auburn Head Coach Gus Malzahn released the  following statement, “Sean White is no longer a part of our football program at Auburn. He has made poor decisions that are not in the best interest of our program, and more importantly, himself. We appreciate his time at Auburn and wish him nothing but the best.”

White was a highly touted five-star recruit coming out of his Florida High School. White won the Elite-11 quarterback competition, being crowned the top quarterback in his recruiting class before heading to the Plains. He started the majority of the 2016 while playing with injury. White has been suspended in the past by Malzahn, including earlier this season.
