Area basketball teams set to compete in Sub-Region games this week. The schedule here:

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The regular season of high school hoops is over, and so are the area tournaments. A grueling four months of hard work has led to many local teams’ ultimate goal of making a run deep into the playoffs.  That run continues Monday night and Tuesday night as boys and girls all across the state are set to face competition in Sub-Region games.

The high school girls will tip-off first in Sub-Region play Monday night. Six girls’ teams from the area will have a chance to move deeper into the postseason. Here is a list of Monday night’s games for local teams. All games are set to tip-off at 7:00.

In the 1A Central Region:

  • Notasulga @ Talladega Co. Central
  • Winterboro @ Loachapoka

In the 3A Central Region:

  • Gordo at Central-Coosa

In the 4A Central Region:

  • Childersburg @ Sipsey Valley

In the 5A Northeast Region:

  • Springville @ Talladega

In the 5A Central region:

  • B.T. Washington-Tuskegee @ Sylacauga

The Alabama high school boys will play their Sub-Region games on Tuesday, Feb 14. Just like the girls’ Sub-Region, all boys’ games will start at 7 p.m. Here is a list of all local teams competing in Sub-Region play.

In the 1A Central Region:

  • Talladega Co. Central @ Notasulga
  • Wadley @ Winterboro

In the 3A Central region:

  • Greene Co. @ Central-Coosa

In the 4A Central Region:

  • Sipsey Valley @ Childersburg

In the 5A Central Region:

  • Beauregard @ Sylacauga

In the 5A Northeast Region:

  • Central-Clay Co. @ Mortimer Jordan

In the 6A Central Region:

  • Stanhope Elmore @ Benjamin Russell

Winners of Sub-Region games will move on to compete in the Regional-Semifinals on Saturday, Feb 18.
