Annie Ozment, Grace Abernathy win Miss Childersburg; Miss Outstanding Teen

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Miss Childersburg and Miss Childersburg’s Outstanding Teen have been crowned for the year 2018.

Annie Ozment was crowned Miss Childersburg 2018 and Grace Abernathy was crowned Miss Childersburg’s Outstanding Teen 2018, at the Childersburg High School Arena on Saturday, July 15. Along with the crown and title, Miss Ozment received a $500 cash scholarship. She was also the recipient of the community service award. Miss Ozment will represent Childersburg at the Miss Alabama Pageant in June 2018.

Ozment is set to attend Auburn University in the Fall and will pursue a a pre-med degree with plans to become an orthodontist. Her pageant platform is “Alabama Childhood Food Solutions: Feeding My Friends.”

Abernathy will represent Childersburg at the Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Sylacauga in March 2018. She impressed during the talent competition, performing the vocal, “Don’t Rain on my Parade.”

Kelsea Trice was chosen first runner up Miss Childersburg. Talent winner was Maggie Jones. Ella Kate Nichols was chosen first runner-up Miss Childersburg’s Outstanding Teen.

In June, the Miss Alabama Pageant awarded $107,000 in cash scholarships and made available, through colleges and universities, millions of dollars in inkind scholarships to participating contestants. In March, the Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen Pageant made available $16,200.00 in cash scholarships and $736,648.00 in inkind scholarships to participating contestants.
