Aggies soccer teams take home wins at All-County Tournament

LINCOLN, Ala. – The Sylacauga Aggies boys and girls teams won the All-County Tournament this weekend played in Lincoln.

The girls team started off the tournament with a huge 8-0 win over Talladega Friday night. Saturday, the girls did not slow down as they played Childersburg and Lincoln. They ended up with a win of 4-0 against Childersburg, and ended the day by beating Lincoln 1-0.

Natalie Hodges won All-County Tournament MVP. Jillian Foster, Shania Finley, Madison Clark, and Keziah Sanders were also named as the representatives for Sylacauga on the all-tournament team.

Lincoln High School’s girls team came in second place with three of their players making the all-tournament team. Childersburg came in third, and two players made the all-tournament team.

The boys had a tough game against Talladega Friday night, but came out on top with a 1-0 final score. The boys started off Saturday’s games by beating Childersburg 3-0. This win against Childersburg solidified the Aggies coming in first place for the tournament, as Childersburg beat Talladega, and Lincoln tied both games against the other two teams. The Aggies still played a tough game against Lincoln that night, with a final score of 1-1.

Rodrigo Estavillo won All-County Tournament MVP for the boys team. Joining him as representatives for the all-tournament team were Dennis Marrs, Evan Donahoo, Quay Taylor, and Brayden Beutler.

Childersburg High School’s boys won second place in the tournament. Lincoln came in third.
