For many years, WYEA-AM (1290) was a standalone radio station in Sylacauga. At the beginning of 2014, with great determination and an unwavering local and regional public service commitment, we began to grow, and grow, and grow, adding WYEA-FM (106.5), WRFS-FM (105.1), WLMA-AM (1050), WLMA-FM (96.3), and, just this August, WFXO-FM (98.3).
Now, I’m especially pleased to share great news that the Federal Communications Commission today approved a move of 98.3 WFXO from Ashland back to the greater Sylacauga area — where it originally launched as WMLS-FM in 1959 — as another regional station in our still-growing media family. We expect 98.3 to be live on our new tall tower here sometime in November.
From Sylacauga, that means we’ll have six radio stations across four separate and powerful brands covering west-to-east between Birmingham and Auburn and south-to-north from below Montgomery to I-20. Take a look at our combined local and regional coverage map. No other area media options match our reach and potential.
Yea!106.5 & WYEA!1290. 105.1 WRFS – The Lake. 96.3 & 1050 WLMA – Real Country. 98.3 WFXO – The Fox.
Along with the new local news site SylacaugaNews.com, we’re really making news. And we’re just getting started.
Look. Listen.
