SHARE NOW

CHILDERSBURG, Ala.- The City of Childersburg will be the center of attention in the area for a second straight weekend.

On Saturday April 22, the city celebrated its 477th birthday with Coosa Fest 477, and Saturday April 29, the living history of the Kymulga Grist Mill will be on display with the 7th Annual Kymulga Grits Festival. The newly restored facility at the Kymulga Grist Mill will be at center stage for the festival.

There will be plenty of activities to partake in during the festival at the 108-year-old grist mill. It is set to feature hay rides, a dunking booth, carnival games, blacksmith demonstrations and more. There will also be multiple vendors on location selling food and drinks.

Live music will also be on display throughout the day, and there could not be a Kymulga Grits Festival without shrimp and grits and more food to be on site.

The festival is set to last from 9 a.m.until 4 p.m.
