SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Comer Museum and Arts Center will host its annual photography competition and exhibition during the month of September, and all entries are due by this Thursday, August 31st.
The photography exhibition will be displayed September 1st through September 29th. An artists reception and awards ceremony will be held Thursday, September 21st from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Admission to the museum is free, and refreshments will be provided at the reception.
Cash prizes for the photography competition will be awarded: First Prize – $100, Second Prize – $75, Third Prize- $50.
Guidelines for Photography Entries
Entry fees are $20 per person plus $5 per photograph.
Photos can be any size and must be matted or framed.
Entries must be delivered to the museum by Thursday of this week.
August Featured Exhibit Ends Wednesday
The August exhibit has featured paintings by two artists: Liz Douglas and Elena Crattic.
Paintings include vibrant landscapes and realistic animals. Many of the paintings by both artists are available for purchase through the museum.
The museum’s hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and the last day to view this exhibit is Wednesday, August 30th.
